On this episode of Straight Up With Stassi, our girl is joined by the one and only Kristina Kelly, founder of Heartspring.co and SUWS OG guest.
“Kristina Kelly, OG, first podcast partner I ever had… One day I want to go back and listen to our first podcast and just hear how terrible it was,” Stassi says.
“I think it was good,” Kristina says.
“But remember we paused it every 20 seconds?” Stassi asks.
“Yeah but people don’t know that,” Kristina says. “Listening to it, I think it sounds good. We talked a lot about like… what we did living with our boyfriends going number 2. Do you remember that? You were like, ‘What do you do?’ And I was like, ‘Well, I act like I’m taking a shower…’”
“Well I talk about number 2 a lot, so there’s that,” Stassi says. “Let’s just talk about this whole number 2 thing real fast. When you’re dating someone new, and you’re either at their apartment in the morning, or they’re at yours, and your stomach starts to bubble, and you’re like, ‘What the fuck do I do?’ That is the worst part of a new dating sitch. Do you remember what that’s like?”
“Yeah,” Kristina says. “Do you take a while? Or are you pretty quick?”
“I’m pretty quick,” Stassi answers. “But like, I would never… I’m not to the point where I feel comfortable doing that with another person who is supposed to want to have sex with me.”
“I’m pretty sure I would just hold it until I got home,” Kristina says.
“Oh, I’ve held it, every time,” Stassi agrees. “Sometimes I can’t even focus or pay attention. I start blacking out. I legitimately start blacking out. I can’t see straight because I’m just like, ‘I really need to use the restroom and I can’t because you’ll never look at me the same way again.’”
“Hey, I’ve been in an eight year relationship and I still go through a procedure,” Kristina says. “We have one bathroom, I have a spray…”
“Oh, Poo-pourri?” Stassi asks. “I have that too.”
“It’s not that but it’s something probably similar,” Kristina says. “I have candles. If the moment comes, I usually light a candle immediately and then blow the candle out.”
“Yeah but isn’t that a telltale sign that you just went to the bathroom?” Stassi asks.
“Sometimes when I just go into the bathroom to pee, I’ll light a candle,” Kristina explains. “So he never knows when. You can’t just only do it then because then it’s obvious. But you’re a candle person, you always have a candle lit.”
“I never do in the bathroom though, unless I have guests over,” Stassi says.
“When I wake up in the morning and make coffee, I usually light a candle or two,” Kristina says. “Start doing the bathroom even when you’re not going and he’ll never know when you are or you aren’t. You know how when you light a match and it has that smell? When you blow out a candle, it also has a distinct smell that helps…” Kristina starts laughing. “You guys, I’m so sorry. Why do we always end up talking about such personal things?”
“This is a very real thing and I think every single girl goes through it,” Stassi says. “The way that guys look at us, they’re like, ‘Oh, girls don’t shit.’”
“‘Their farts smell like flowers,’” Kristina jokes. “Mine do. I don’t know if yours do. They smell like lavender mixed with rose face mist.”
“Mine smell like ranch and wine,” Stassi laughs. “And hot sauce.”
“I’m really proud of her.”
“So Kristina Kelly now has rose water spray,” Stassi announces. “I have been begging her to make rose water spray for, like, over a year. Because I spray it on my face every morning and every night. I have it by my bed with your lip balms. And now I have Heartspring.”
“They go really cute together, huh?” Kristina asks.
“I love your packaging, it’s adorable,” Stassi says.
“Thank you,” Kristina says.
“Yeah, just type Heartspring,” Kristina says.
“Or look up Kristina Kelly on Instagram,” Stassi adds.
“Yeah. I’m so glad you like it,” Kristina says. “It’s the new new. My new little baby. I’m really proud of her. It’s just really light and delicate. The ingredients are really simple, as I do for Heartspring. Everything is really minimal, organic, natural.”
“What’s in it?” Stassi asks.
“This has rose water, witch hazel, and aloe vera,” Kristina explains. “It has everything that you need for your face — it has amazing benefits.”
“I’m going to spray this shit 24/7 because my psoriasis has broken out all over my face,” Stassi says.
“Give it a good shake,” Kristina says. “You can keep it in the fridge in the summer so it’s really cold. I purposely have it in a lightweight, capped container so you can throw it in your purse. And it looks really cute on your counter.”
“It’s really chic,” Stassi says. “Now I’m just waiting on the candle.”
“It’s coming girl, and so is the lip tint,” Kristina says. “That’s what’s so exciting. Obviously I talk about this every time and get really passionate so I could talk a whole podcast about it, but, there are so many products I want to do.”
“How are you tinting it?” Stassi asks.
“I’m going to be using a flower root so it’s all natural,” Kristina answers. “Right now it’s about getting the measurements to the color that I want. I’m going to have to test it on your lips to get the color right. But yeah, guys, go on Heartspring and get your goodies.”
“I’m so proud of you,” Stassi says.
“Love you,” Kristina replies.
“I love you too.”
